The Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) supports good health and independence as we age in our communities. Our agency plays a crucial role in advocating and supporting a community that values, supports, and empowers older adults. We are a one-stop shop for many in the community to help them remain independent and healthy – helping prevent or delay the need for more expensive long-term care.
Every three years we formally request community input to develop a new three-year plan for aging programs and services in each county, which we call our “Aging Plans.” The plans will outline milestones and goals for staff and represent each County’s intention to ensure older people have the opportunity to realize their full potential and to participate in all areas of community life. Once the plan is approved by our local policy-setting group, each County's plan will be submitted to one of our primary funders, the Greater Wisconsin Agency on Aging Resources (GWAAR). We use it to help guide decisions and provide an annual report on our progress in achieving the milestones and goals.
To get started, we are gathering county-wide community input from older adults and those who care about them. Our survey provides anyone an opportunity to share ideas about how to make Barron or Rusk County a great place to age well. Please provide your input by completing a survey available above by April 15, 2024.
