Barron and Rusk County Meals on Wheels Joining Share the Love® Event

Barron and Rusk Counties are proud to announce they will be participating in the 2023 Subaru Share the Love Event as a member of Meals on Wheels America – one of four national Share the Love charitable partners supported through the campaign. From November 16, 2023, through January 2, 2024, Subaru of America and its retailers will donate a minimum of $300 for every new Subaru vehicle purchased or leased to the customer's choice of participating charities. Through the Subaru Share the Love® Event beginning in 2008, Subaru and its retailers have helped the Meals on Wheels network provide more than 4.3 million meals and friendly visits to seniors in need.

This will be the fourth year the counties are participating in the Share the Love event. Over the last three years our Meals on Wheels programs have received thousands of dollars which have been put right back into the programs to help cover expenses in food, gas, and supplies.

Participating Meals on Wheels America members, like Barron and Rusk Counties, will receive a share of the donation raised by Subaru retailers throughout Wisconsin. The Barron and Rusk County Meals on Wheels Programs have partnered with their closest Subaru retailer, Chilson Automotive in Eau Claire, to raise awareness for the popular year-end sales and giving event, and drive support for Meals on Wheels through publicly promoting Share the Love. This promotion brings awareness to the community about the importance of the program and is a way to reach new volunteers to help deliver the meals.

Thank you to Subaru and its retailers for their long-standing commitment to Meals on Wheels and the millions of seniors who depend on it for nourishment and companionship. By purchasing or leasing a new Subaru during the Subaru Share the Love Event and selecting Meals on Wheels as your charity of choice, you can help deliver nutritious meals and other important services to seniors right here in Barron and Rusk Counties.
