Phone Scam Warning

posted Jun 10, 2015, 2:09 PM by Kim Cobb
A phone scam is occurring where the caller indicates he/she is from the ADRC, then tries to sign people up for a “free” alert system. The caller then goes on to say that there is a pre-payment of some sort.

People receiving the call are asked to push buttons that take them further into a phone tree.

Please be aware- this is a scam. Your ADRC does not provide a "free" alert system, or take payments over the phone.  It does not ask you to push buttons to go through a phone tree.  We certainly don’t tell you something is free and then ask for a pre-payment.  This is a scam.
